Autumn Tierra Art has arrived at Hands On

You probably already know that Hands On is a great place to create your own gifts. But did you know that we also have Gifts to Go? So, if you're running short on time and still need a birthday present for that special someone, we might just have something already made up. You can pick it up at the studio, add a card and some wrapping and you're good to go. We've got pre-painted pottery, fused glass art pieces and lots of jewelry items.

Hands On is proud to announce that we are now offering a selection of locally made jewelry by Autumn Tierra Art. Autumn Tierra is an artist originally from Arizona who currently resides in Twin Falls. Although she dabbles in many different art forms, Hands On is featuring a selection of her handmade necklaces and earrings. Autumn Tierra's jewelry designs incorporate semi-precious stones and fresh water pearls as well as wood and glass beads. She is dedicated to making art accessible to everyone through the creation of affordable and unique jewelry items created right here in Twin Falls. So please stop by and check out our latest jewelry selections.

Mother's Day is coming up on Sunday, May 9th. It's really not that far away and besides, you never want to forget mom on her special day. Give mom thanks for all the little things (and the big things too) that she does for you and everyone else. At Hands On, we've got lots of gift ideas and you can even make the gift yourself ...which will make it have even more sentimental value for mom.

Paint her a travel mug for the car (or mini-van) or create a frame for your most recent family photo. How about putting your handprints all over a vase or flowerpot and then filling it with the prettiest flowers you can find? Or, you can create personalized fused glass or silver clay jewelry for her.

Better yet, treat her to a day of painting with a friend or to one of our special events. The next DIVA Night at Hands On is Friday April 9th - it's called InSPAration night and all painters are treated to a mini-pedicure. How about bringing her to our Mother-Daughter Tea and Spa Party on Saturday May 8th. You'll both have fun and you can never get enough quality time with mom!

Getting ready for Oktoberfest

I have been working hard on getting ready for Oktoberfest (which really is happening on October 3rd and 4th, in spite of the fact that you may have heard that it was canceled). It's been so much fun trying new projects and ways to make glass. I really enjoy the glass work - I find it fascinating - must be that it's just something different. I have been trying out lots of new glass techniques and making some cool glass samples to sell. I'll be set up in front of Jensen's on Main Avenue so come visit me if you're downtown.

I'm also working on our glass set up. I think we're going to move away from Glass Classes and just allow customers to do a glass project whenever they come in to the studio. We are going to pre-cut some base pieces and strips of glass too in an effort to make it easier to put a glass project together. So, all you have to do is, pick a base, piece some precut pieces and put them together. We're also making kid friendly glass so that you AND your child can play with glass at Hands On. Now for those of you that like to create your own glass masterpiece from scratch, you'll still be able to do that too.

Look for an announcement soon when we've got the glass studio all set to go. In the meantime, you can still come in and create fused glass pieces. Hope to see you at the studio soon!

Getting Started

Hi out there. We've just got back from CCSA convention and everyone's talking about blogs so I figure it's about time that I set one up for us at Hands On. I'm not exactly sure how to start but how 'bout this....We're going to be 5 next week! Can you believe it? My how time has flown. And we really want to thank all our customers and friends. We really appreciate your support over the last 5 years. It's been fun and we hope it continues for a long time to come.
